Joellen Elizabeth (Locey) Porter, age 71, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017. She was born in Elmira, NY on December 9, 1945 at Arnot Ogden Hospital, the daughter of the late Kenneth W. Sr. and Marilyn (Sheive) Locey. She is survived by two daughters; Laura (Greg Barnes) Porter Smalt and Elizabeth Porter both of Bath, NY; three grandsons, Rodney Brewer, Matthew Porter and Donavan Porter; great grandson, Jayce Porter and great granddaughter, Adrianna Brewer and her brothers, Kenneth W.(Sherry) Locey Jr. and Keith W. Locey. She was predeceased by her son Michael B. Porter, great grandson Rodney, Jr. and sisters, Judith A. Locey and June L. Bacon (Locey). She graduated from Haverling Central School in Bath, earned an Associates degree from Corning Community College and attended Mansfield University for one year. Mrs. Porter worked for Westinghouse and Philips Lighting in Bath for 37 ½ years, retiring from there. She was a financial secretary for the Local 1013 Union for 20 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, knitting, crocheting, NASCAR, Buffalo Bills football, reading books and doing crafts. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday October 17th from 4:00-6:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath, NY. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Dale Kee officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Juvenile Diabetes at www.jdrf.org or a charity of one's choice.
