Wanda Simons Carr, age 88, of Bath, NY died peacefully at home on Saturday December 2, 2017. She was born March 25, 1929 in Endicott, NY, the daughter of John and Edith (Boatman) Campbell. Mrs. Carr retired from Philips Lighting of Bath and had worked as an Aide at the Steuben County Infirmary for a short time. She was a graduate of Prattsburgh High School and a member of the Prattsburgh Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday school. Mrs. Carr was very active with her children and was a Girl Scout Leader and 4 H Leader. She was loved very much by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She really enjoyed all the cards, gifts and visits she received during her illness, thank you. She was the queen of craftiness and left a legacy of crafters and hobbyists; her daughters, Lisa J.(Paul) Hargraves of Bath, NY, Jackie Summers (Mark Dildine), Sally DiJohn, Betty (Doug) Kimmel, Lucinda (Joseph) St. Pierre and Veronica (Brent) Petracchi; two sons, Terry (Mary) Simons and James (Wanda) Simons, 17 grandkids, 40 great grandkids, 5 great great grandkids, her sister, Barbara Scotchmer; special friend Annabelle Banach, close family friend Rae Gallegos and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Harold A. Simons and 2nd husband Richard D. Carr, her daughter Judith Lee Simons and sisters Phyllis Milliman and Theda Benbow. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Care First, 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, NY 14870.
