Emery D. Smith, age 84, of Savona, NY died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Guthrie Corning Hospital. He was born May 29, 1933 in Bath, NY, the son of Sherman T. and Martha (Stewart) Smith. He had worked for Taylor Wine Company and also for the Bradford Central School. Mr. Smith was a member of the Bradford Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Smith was an Army Veteran and served in Germany, Italy and Austria. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Jane Ann (Travis) Smith; his children, Cindy French, Karen S.(Kevin) Stephenson and Daniel S. Smith; grandchildren, Mark Smith, Kelly French, Aidan Stephenson and Pierce Stephenson, great grandchild, Xyzyx Smith; sisters, Katherine Crans, Elizabeth Vanderveer and Marilyn Meese and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Justin Emery Smith, step son Peter J. Travis, daughter-in-law Tammy K. Meyers and son-in-law Dale French. Calling hours will be held on Sunday March 4th from 1:00-3:00 pm at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, NY. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Sis Conrad officiating and Military Honors. Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
