I was so sorry to hear about Betty. Soon after I met her in AAUW, she became my role model for living a meaningful life along with aging gracefully. I admired her intelligence, positive attitude, accepting nature, warm and generous spirit and physical fitness. She was a great asset to our AAUW Book Club, sharing her life experiences and wisdom. We will miss her terribly, but feel blessed to have had her share in our lives. You are all to be commended for the wonderful way you pulled together to support your mom.

I was so sorry to hear of the death of your beloved mother. She was a real asset to our community. It was a pleasure to know both her and your father. They were both great people, and they set an example for all of us. I enjoyed the days when I planted and watered flowers with her. She will be sadly missed.

Betty was a wonderful family friend, neighbor, and real estate agent. I cherish the memories from the last years of our time in Bath, NY. Betty sold us (myself, Dr. Lorenzsonn, and our two children) Mary Davis's house at 13 Allen Street in the 1980s. We're indebted to her, in many ways, for our happiness there.

Betty was a very special lady. She was one of my volunteers when I was on staff at the old Greater Steuben Chapter American Red Cross as Emergency Services Director. I could always count on her when a local disaster occurred in the area. Betty was a dedicated volunteer for our organization. Her passing has left a void in the Bath community. She will be missed.

To the Langendorfer family,
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Reading her obituary, it is obvious Betty had a full and busy life. Please take comfort from God's word that it holds a real hope of being reunited with our loved ones again. John 5:28,29 speaks of being in God's memory awaiting an earthly resurrection. I hope these words have brought you a bit of comfort during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Cindy

Betty was one of the first persons I got to know upon arriving in Bath in 2005. She was my Democratic partner at the polls where we worked together for eight years. She was a neighbor on Allen Street, but perhaps most importantly she helped my church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, establish a Community Garden which went on to grow to 13 beds and 11 community groups growing vegetables in the summer for the local food pantry. Betty, herself, spend many hours tending the St. Mary's bed as well as helping everyone else with their beds. Her smile would brighten anyone's day. She will be sorely missed.
