Obituary of Edward Watson Spangler

Edward Watson Spangler, age 82, of Bath, NY died Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Bath VAMC.  He was born March 10, 1936 in Pulteney, NY the son of Archie and Virginia (Prentiss) Spangler.  Ed was an U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the Carpellatti Association. He retired from Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post, NY and was also a member of the American Legion in Big Flats, NY. Ed’s family wishes to thank Care First and the nurses and staff at the VA Hospice for their loving care, and all of our friends and family for their support.

He is survived by his son Dean (Kendra) Spangler of Waukesha, WI, daughter, Dawn (David) Wright of Gillett, PA; grandchildren, Bethany, Kelsey, Autumn and Matthew, his sister, Virginia Griffin of Jacksonville, NC , his companion for the last 11 years, Shirley Manuel of Bath and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Bath National Cemetery.
