Obituary of Marion Koffel Lee
Marion Estella (Buzby) Koffel, 90, of Savona, NY passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Elderwood of Hornell. Born April 10, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, Marion was the only child of the late Randall C. and Marion R. (Greene) Buzby.
Married 44 years to her loving husband, George, Marion was a lifelong homemaker, raising their four children in Lansdale & Hatfield, PA. A second marriage to Arthur B. Lee moved Marion to Orlando, FL, but after his death she relocated with family to Savona, NY in 1999.
Marion will be remembered as a kind and compassionate woman with an unending faith in God, and devoted to her family and friends. Always a caregiver, she provided daycare for years to many young children. Marion also served as Cub Scout Den Mother at the First Baptist Church of Lansdale. Her interests included flowers, gardening and birds, especially owls. She was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed singing and listening to music.
Marion was predeceased by her husband, George J. Koffel Sr. She is survived by her children George J. Koffel Jr., Barbara J. Trotter-Byerly, Stephen R. Koffel, and Deborah R. Koffel, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces.
At her request, there were no services, but a celebration of Marion’s life will be held at the family’s convenience.
