Obituary of Richard R. Learn

Richard R. "Dick" Learn, age 72, of County Route 69, Bath, NY died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at home after a lengthy illness.  He was born in Corning, NY, July 9, 1946, the son of the late Clayton and Ethel (Hill) Learn.  Throughout the years Dick was employed at many locations, including a Pallet Factory in Pennsylvania, Corning Glass and Westinghouse Corporation.  From 1972-2005 he worked in the Building Management Department of the Bath VA Hospital.  He later worked part-time in the housekeeping department of Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2009.

Dick was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church of Bath. He enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing and especially mowing his lawn with his "John Deere"

He was predeceased by step son Charles Pecor, brother David Learn and two sisters, Edith Dunham and Janice Chamberlain.

He was married in 1991 to the former  Veronica "Jane" Henshaw who survives him, and is also survived by three daughters; Tina Hart of Springfield, MO, Paula (Rick) Cates of Zebulon, NC and Rhonda; step children, Richard Pecor and  Matthew Cupp of Savona, NY and Andrew (Michelle) Cupp of Bath, NY; two brothers, Vernon 'Bob' (Mitzie) Learn of Arkport, NY  and Clayton (Barbara) Learn of Cameron Mills, NY; two sisters, Audrey (Ben) Lowry of TX and Eileen Brewer of Greenwood and many much loved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Harvest Baptist Church, Route 54 in Bath on Saturday February 16, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am at the church.  Dick's family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name be made to the Harvest Baptist Church, Route 54, Bath, NY 14810.
