Janice Anne Smalt, age 70, of Bath, NY died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at home.  She was born in Bath, NY, April 24, 1948, the daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve (Muck) Gilbert.  Janice retired from the Bath V.A.M.C. as a Nurses Aide and also had worked at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital. She ran a boarding home in Bath for over 30 years helping the homeless people in the area.  

She is survived by her daughter Wendy Robbins, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister, Ruth (Robert) Bolling and brothers; Jonathan (Gail) Gilbert and Richard Gilbert.  She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Smalt, son Raymond Smalt Jr., brother Edward Gilbert Jr. and sister Sandra Buchanan.
