Margie was my second cousin and one year older than I. My brother and I spent nearly every summer while we were growing up, in Corning, NY, where our extended family abounded.
Lots of good times and good memories. Picnics at Aunt Bernice and Uncle Henry's house, summer gatherings at Eldridge Park in Elmira, and whole days at the Corning Public Pool. Margie and I even taught swimming lessons there!
Keuka Lake was a frequent blissful experience. Aunt Bernice and Uncle Henry rented a house on the lake most summers and the whole family would boat, swim and frolic. Margie and I swam across and back Keuka when we were 12 and 13, and we even got our names in The Corning Leader.
In our later teen age years, Margie and I drifted apart a little, but I was honored to be her bridesmaid in her first marriage.
Be at rest, Margie, and know that you are loved.
