Obituary of John Michael Thornton

John ‘Jack’ M. Thornton, age 77, of Bath, NY, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at home. He was born August 11, 1935 in Buffalo, NY the son of Joseph H. and Jane Keyes Thornton. Jack was an avid horseshoe pitcher. He was a local contractor for many years and enjoyed farming as a hobby. He also loved animals.
He is survived by his wife Priscilla (Cornelius) Thornton of Bath, daughter Connie; two sons, Daniel and Michael, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and brothers, James, Robert (Mary) and Norman Thornton. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Daniel and Charlie and his sister Judy.
A funeral service will be held January 22, 2013 at 12:30 pm at the Bath VA Chapel.
Burial will follow at 1:00 pm in the Bath National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Care First, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
