Obituary of Virginia Grace Sprague

Virginia Grace (Schoeffler) Sprague Virginia G. Sprague, age 94 of Bath NY, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at home. She was born July 24, 1918 in Bath, NY, the daughter of George Henry and Susan (Bailey) Schoeffler. She was a devoted wife and family manager, who enjoyed traveling the world with her husband of 72 years, the late William L. Sprague. She was pre-deceased by her husband, parents, 5 brothers - Henry, Harold, Leo, Melburn, and LaVerne Schoeffler, 2 Daughters - Lyna Jean Hall and Carolyn L. Matthews, a son-in-law, Kenneth Hall, and a sister-in-law, Betty Schoeffler. She is survived by son-in-law Ronald Matthews of Bath, NY; 7 Grand Children - Carmon Withers (Donald) of Bath, NY, Ronda Withers (Jeffrey) of Bath, NY, Alex Matthews (Peter Franco) of Lawrenceville, NJ, Eric Matthews (Tammy) of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Richard Hall (Joy) of Greenville, NC, Martin Hall (Silvia) of Mauern, Germany, and Susan Hall of Morrison, TN; 14 Great Grand Children - Valerie, Ronald and Landon Withers, Samantha Lynch (Andrew), Kristen Withers, John and William Matthews, Ashley Bacani (Jon), Rachel, Shannon, Olivia, Samuel, Virginia, and Ian Hall; 3 Great-Great Grand Children: William Alexeev, Jayden Bacani and Noah Lynch; Sisters-in-law, Helen Schoeffler of Bath, NY, Marion Sprague of Tucson, AZ and Norma Georgia of Prattsburg, NY; several nieces and nephews . Friends may call on Wednesday, February 20th from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Fagan’s Funeral Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Barry Butts officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Steuben County SPCA, 7315 Rt. 54, Bath, NY.
