Obituary of Marcia M. Coon

Marcia Meade Coon, age 62, of Naples FL and Hammondsport, NY died April 13, 2013. She was born June 9, 1950 in Bath, NY the daughter of Joseph F. Meade, II and Helen B. Meade. Marcia was a graduate of Hammondsport Central School and the School of Architecture at Syracuse University. She was a local Architect in Hammondsport, NY and designed the Fred and Harriett Taylor Memorial Library, the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum and several homes and businesses on Keuka Lake and surrounding areas. She also spent several years in Washington DC working on the Dulles Airport and other large projects.
Marcia enjoyed traveling, entertaining, modern art and architecture. She loved being on her dock and boat at Keuka Lake and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a generous, caring and giving person who would go above and beyond to help others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Devon Rohr and her husband James Rohr and their daughter Alexandra Rohr and Lindsay Zema and her husband Jason Zema and their sons Jacob and Joshua Zema; former spouse Geoffrey M. Coon, brother Bud Meade and his wife Katherine Meade, nephew Joseph F. IV (Kelley) Meade, great niece Ashleigh and great nephew Joseph F. Meade V, niece, Carrie (Eric) Crane with a great niece on the way; brother, David Meade and his wife Roberta Meade, nephew Dan (Kendall) Meade, great nieces Brynn and Kelsey; nieces, Jessica Meade and Madison Meade and long time companion and best friend Robert Narde of Corning, NY. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph F. Meade II and Helen B. Meade.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday April 26, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Fagan’s Funeral Home, 31 W. Morris Street, Bath, NY. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Marcia’s name.
