Obituary of Mildred H. Barclay

Mildred H. Barclay, age 88, of Bath, NY died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She was born in North Hornell, NY on August 17, 1928 the daughter of Marjorie Hall. During her residency in Elma, NY, near Buffalo, she owned and operated a catering business for 20 yrs and drove school bus for Iroquois Central. Millie retired to Hammondsport with her husband Samuel where they built their own home and volunteered at the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum for 17 yrs. She enjoyed playing cards, games and entertaining friends in her home in Bath.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Barclay, Joyce (Mark) Notarnicola; grandchildren, Chris Notarnicola, Erin Gillespie and Jess (Marie) Gillespie; great grandson Luke Samuel Gillespie; many nieces and nephews and beloved friend of the family Gretchen Fierle.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 14 at 11:00 am at the Wildflower Hills Community Center in Bath. A luncheon will follow for family and friends. Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
