To the Hopkins family, my heartfelt condolences for your loss of your loved one. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to put an end to all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including pain and death (Revelation 21:3,4). May these promises from God's word, the Bible give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

I have had a few, good, long conversations with Curt. I would stop for a moment or a small question and an hour later need to be getting home. He was so easy to talk to. Yet, another patriarch of Bath.... he was sharp as a tack... gone and forever missed.

Curt hired me right out of high school in the beginning i messed up a lot but he always showed patients and thought me many things. I worked for him for 12 or 13 years and after i left i would stop by and he always treated me with respect i would like to think that Curt was not only my former boss but he was also a friend. Rest in peace my friend

He was SUCH a good neighbor to my mom for many, many years on Selleck Road, as was his father. On a few visits to their very comfortable kitchen, I enjoyed meeting his recently past brother too. I would imagine I met his mom but I can't recall. There are few people who farm anymore - but he certainly embodied all the fine work ethics and traits the farming trade used to stand for. It was joy seeing his HUGE farm equipment going up and down the road to cultivate, plow, plant or harvest. Looking out over his fields and seeing his beautiful and well-cared for cattle. We were lucky enough to have purchased a few for beef - and they were as delicious and reasonably priced as anyone would imagine looking over his homestead. He was an institution in the Bath area. I remember going to Hopkins Dairy Store as a child for a Sunday ice cream cone when we lived on Freeman Hollow Road. How sad it is to see the community landscape and leaders continue to change - such visible and defining members of our society leaving only vestiges of their lives by which to be remembered. But truly - how many of us lived such a life that we will be missed at all - other than by our closest loved ones? He will be missed by all. His presence will be missed by all. His contributions to our youth by way of showing them the rich traditions of days gone by - will be no more! What he knew about agriculture, farming, milking, calving, - what he knew could have filled volumes. What a sad day. My deepest sympathies to his sister and others who grieve his passing.
